I’m an illustrator and visual artist who enjoys bringing ideas and stories to life through vibey textured illustration influenced by my screen printing experience, and vibrant animations inspired by city pop aesthetics.
After studying graphic design and visual communication in Bucharest I worked as a graphic and brand designer for over 10 years. Recently turned to illustration, motion design and animation, my favourite subjects are everyday scenes and places, lifestyle, travel, food, and anything Japanese culture, for advertising, book covers, editorial and branding projects.
Playing with the juxtaposition of light and shadow, my work has a cinematic quality to it, conjuring subtle feelings and moods and emotionally colouring scenes in a deeply evocative atmosphere. Tinged with slight unease and tension, or basking in luminous, comforting colours, the imagery I create can fall on very different sides of the emotional spectrum.
Outside of the world of illustration, I love random things like literature, animation and film, endurance sports, architecture, music production, Chinese history, and spend my every remaining drop of energy studying Japanese in the evenings.
