I’m an illustrator and animator who brings ideas and stories to life through vibey textured illustration influenced by my background in screen printing and oil painting, and vibrant animations inspired by city pop aesthetics.
After working as a graphic and brand designer for more than 10 years, I now focus on illustration work for editorial, book cover, advertising and branding projects. My clients include Die Zeit, Financial Times, and The Transmitter.
My favourite subjects are everyday scenes and places, capturing the unique spirit of an environment, people and lifestyle, travel, food, memories and perception, and I also enjoy conceptual illustration projects.
Playing with the juxtaposition of light and shadow, my work has a cinematic quality, conjuring subtle emotions and moods while using color and grain to create a deeply evocative atmosphere. Tinged with slight unease and tension, or basking in luminous, comforting colours, the imagery I create can span a wide emotional spectrum.
My work has been recognised by Booooooom Illustration Awards and Beijing International Book Fair (BIBF) International Illustration Awards.
Outside of illustration, I love things like literature, animation and film, endurance sports, architecture, music production, and East Asian culture and history.
